LAKE COMO, Italy: BMW has unveiled a new collector's gem at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025 – introducing the BMW Concept Speedtop, a limited-run three-door Touring interpretation blending classic elegance with cutting-edge performance.

Designed to stand apart both aesthetically and technically, this concept will be produced in a series of just 70 units for a select group of collectors and enthusiasts.

Presented on the historic shores of Lake Como, the Concept Speedtop marks another high point for BMW's tradition of revealing visionary show cars at Villa d’Este. Following the acclaim of last year’s Skytop reveal and its subsequent 50-unit production run, BMW is once again targeting connoisseurs of high design and exclusivity.

BMW Concept Speedtop

At first glance, the Concept Speedtop delivers a distinctive silhouette, merging the elegance of a shooting brake with the sporty DNA of a classic Touring model. “A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it's standing still,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “The Concept Speedtop’s profile is highly distinctive in the automotive landscape, creating a visual exclamation mark in the Touring segment.”

Its aggressive front features a sharp V-shaped bonnet line and shark-nose styling. Slim LED headlamps flank the iconic illuminated kidney grille, creating a powerful forward stance. From the bonnet, a prominent central spline flows seamlessly across the sculpted roof to the rear spoiler, emphasising the car’s aerodynamic fluidity.

The colour gradient along the roof – from "Floating Sunstone Maroon" to "Floating Sundown Silver" – further enhances the car’s dynamic presence. This gradient not only highlights the vehicle’s contours but also ties into the luxurious two-tone palette echoed throughout the cabin. Broad shoulders and bespoke 14-spoke, two-tone wheels underscore the car’s bold proportions and road presence.

Crafted interior

Inside, the Concept Speedtop offers an experience designed for discerning travellers. The cabin is tailored for two, featuring luxurious leather upholstery enhanced with traditional brogue-style detailing. The interior colour scheme mirrors the exterior’s hues: the dark "Sundown Maroon" leather harmonises with "Moonstone White" seat accents, dividing the space into dynamic and refined zones.

One of the most striking elements is the illuminated roof spline, mirrored inside as a light beam across the two-tone leather headliner. This subtle illumination adds to the ambience and connects the vehicle’s outer and inner worlds.

The boot, similarly wrapped in leather with brogue perforations, is illuminated and divided into two compartments. This layout allows for elegant practicality, enabling storage of larger luggage pieces for weekend escapes. Every surface and detail reflects the artisanal work of BMW’s Manufactory workshop at its Dingolfing plant, known for its bespoke, limited-series production.

Bespoke accessories

In collaboration with famed Italian leather artisan Schedoni, BMW has designed bespoke luggage pieces to complement the Concept Speedtop’s aesthetic. Two custom-fitted Schedoni bags are secured behind the front seats using elegant leather straps, echoing the car’s traditional-meets-modern ethos.

Additionally, a matching weekend bag is designed to fit precisely within the boot’s divided storage space. Schedoni, a household name in automotive luxury, brings a level of handmade quality and exclusivity that aligns with the vehicle’s unique identity.

Power and performance

Beneath the refined exterior, the BMW Concept Speedtop houses the most powerful V8 engine currently available in BMW’s lineup. While exact performance figures remain under wraps, the powertrain promises exceptional acceleration and high-speed capability, reinforcing the car’s sporty underpinnings.

Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President of BMW Brand and Product Management, contextualised the project: “Last year’s Skytop was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, leading to a 50-unit production run. That success encouraged us to offer this year’s Concept Speedtop as a limited production model as well – just 70 units worldwide. This extraordinary vehicle is now available for order.”
